You know College football season is near when EA Sports releases a new version of NCAA Football. I skipped last year in hopes that this years game would be better than a minor update. I left for Korea last year short into the College Football season and I didn’t get enough of a fix because the lack of American programming. This game should be a decent enough alternative. I found it today at the local retail store, I knew it wasn’t supposed to be out for another 6 days. Whoops, the store jumped the gun. Now I just need to find some rosters and my plan is complete. I’m off, PS3 update finished, time for some Rocky Top football.
Humphreys celebrated the 4th by opening up the main gates and shared the festivities with our Korean neighbors. The Garrison had scheduled a long 3 day event beginning Friday morning at 1100 opening many facilities which included the golf driving range, splish and splash water park, bowling center, putt putt, free concerts, jump castles, live concerts and food vendors. The Army also brought in an Apache and Blackhawk helicopters along with many other vehicles for static display. We ended the 4th with a very long fireworks demonstration, which was much better than we expected. It was a nice touch and made us feel like we were back home. It was a overall pretty good event, lots of people and plenty to do. The Wife and I also celebrated our 6th year, we had friends over for BBQ and meat kabobs. Good times, reminds me of the cook outs we had back at home.
The picture set continued from where the in-laws came to visit. To summarize, we all had lunch at a Korean Mickey D’s. Same menu, but no evidence of “Super Size”. At the airport, while we were waiting for them to board, we took notice of all the newlywed couples in the airport. It was like the Thomas Crown Affair. It seems traditionally cute that when Koreans get married, they dress alike on the way to their honeymoon. Most wore matching shirts and pants/shorts, but others went as far as to match shoes, hats and jackets. Some alternated color schemes. To our surprise, there were a lot of married couples. Everywhere we would look, we would point and say, “Look there goes another!” One of the family friends were taking pictures of every single one of them, he didn’t want to look like a suspicious American terrorist, so he would inconspicuously take pictures without even using the view finder. You know, off the shoulder, behind the back. It was hilarious. Included in the set is some Mama B-Day, Mama Day and we got to go to Everland. Tyler and Auri’s first experience with a roller coaster. Tyler rode the big one and Auri rode a little one, she didn’t care too much for the first round, but the second round, she yelled and waved at bubba and sissy. It was fun with only 3 coasters, the T-Mobile Express was the largest, fastest wooden roller coaster I ever been on. Lots of fun, but with a 1 hour waiting time, we only got to ride it once. Another one called Eagle’s Fortress (Alex tells me) hang down coaster, took turns really quick, swerving up nearly 45 degrees both ways while whipping around turns. Also very fun. The last one was the Rolling X Train, typical average coaster. Probably been there since the park first opened. Double loops and twists, pretty much threw you everywhere. It was okay. The kids had fun and we would like to go again sometime. The rest of the pictures proves that spring and summer are here. We are getting comfortable 70-80 degree weather… but we better enjoy it while we can, because July is monsoon season. (FYI-Lots of rain) PS - August we are coming home for a few weeks. The mama found this video. I am now a new fan of Travis Barker. Sad that I didn’t know who he was before this watching this video. He has 2 other video remixes on YouTube that are just as good as this one, Superman by Soulja Boy and one with Busta Rhymes.
FYI — He is gonna be in the new Guitar Hero 4 game (Guitar Hero gets drums)!
